When filming started Dave Unpronounceable had clocked up over 11,000 ticks. He'd also developed a growing reputation for boycotting certain breweries, beers and a few pubs!

As the youngest ticker on the beerticking circuit Dave Unpronounceable now lives in Sheffield... some say purely for the real ale! He calls himself a 'scooper', and explains the subtle difference as a matter of taste... literally! A 'ticker' is about the collecting, a 'scooper' appreciates the flavour of the ale. Even within the hobby there are divisions, and lots of ranting! Something Dave Unpronounceable and his fellow scooper Gazza Prescott are very good at.

Dave U (as he is also known) and Gazza Prescott are examples of a new wave of tickers - travelling much of Europe on the weekends in search of more alternative continental beers - which they elequently refer to as "foreign muck"!
