PUBLIC PREMIERE - Cinema Screening - 15th December 2009
A date for your diaries!
We've decided to publicly launch the film ... in Sheffield on the 15th December.
The showing will take place at the Showroom Cinema at 8pm.
We're excited that the lucky Yorkshire folk will be the first to see the film and will hopefully turn up in their droves and watch the newest production from Quick Feet Films.
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from the Showroom Box Office by calling 0114 275 7727.
If you are wondering what all the hype is about then read on as we are very proud to be telling the story of the group of hobbyists called Beertickers!
The film is an exploration of the collectors psyche, but also an insight into what could be the best hobby in the world! It's also a test of filmmaker Phil Parkin's affection and dedication to the ever popular real ale. At 70 minutes the documentary follows four characters and Phil in their quest to tick more and more beers, as well as highlighting the story of beer and importance it has in our rich history.
Joined by a cast of beertickers, and including acclaimed beer writer Pete Brown, this is a journey that everyone can laugh at, care about, marvel over and finally get very thirsty for beer.
Pete Brown said in a recent review;
"...rather than coming across as unbearable nerds, the characters do make fascinating viewing."
"And it made me think differently about tickers. I won’t be starting any time soon – despite the fact that, apparently, I’m starting to look like one – but the tickers featured in this film at least are not the Aspergers stereotypes other beer enthusiasts enjoy looking down on".
