Over the last 30 years, Brian Moore has searched the country for new beers to drink and tick. He's recorded more than 38,000 real ales, landing the title of Champion Beerticker of Britain... And he's not alone.

Hundreds of beer enthusiasts take part in this unusual hobby, seeking out new ales to add to their ever-growing lists.

'BEERTICKERS: beyond the' ale is a film about a strange hobby, curiosity, collecting, obsession and drinking good old real ale.

Filmmaker Phil Parkin immerses himself in the unique pastime, travelling to pubs and beer festivals, observing the beertickers in action, learning the rules and drinking the ales.

Joining Brian the Champ, Mick the Tick, Dave Unpronouncable and Gazza Prescott, Phil soon finds himself in the middle of a real ale revival, with a new nickname and quest to tick 500 different beers.
